Isolation and Selection of Antagonistic Bacteria against Cercospora arachidicola Causing Brown Spot on Peanut

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study was conducted with the aim to isolation bacterial strains capable of antagonism Cercospora arachidicola (Passalora arachidicola) causing brown spot in peanut. From 3 soil samples collected rhizosphere peanut grown Tay Ninh province, Vietnam, 10 were found having antagonistic action arachidicola. After 5 days testing, efficiency all isolates ranged from 33.33±1.28 60.183±0.927%. Studying mechanism showed that 5/10 produced siderophore, decomposing chitin, 7/10 cellulase and 8/10 proteolytic. Basing on results 16S rRNA gene sequence combined morphological biochemical characteristics, TN-TB 4, 6 12 identified as Bacillus, representing genera Bacillus amyloliquefaciens, pasterurii, velezensis, respectively. These bacteria have potential produce probiotics.

Effects of Temperature and Wetness Duration on Infection of Peanut Cultivars by Cercospora arachidicola.

ABSTRACT The effects of temperature and duration of wetness (relative humidity >/=95%) on infection of three peanut cultivars by Cercospora arachidicola were determined under controlled conditions. Plants of the Spanish cv. Spanco and the runner cvs. Florunner and Okrun were exposed to constant temperatures of 18 to 30 degrees C during 12-h periods of wetness each day that totaled 12 to 84 h fo...

Ethylene Production and Leaflet Abscission of Three Peanut Genotypes Infected with Cercospora arachidicola Hori.

Ethylene can induce abscission of leaves and other plant organs. Increased ethylene production by plant tissues can occur after invasion by microorganisms. The fungus Cercospora arachidicola Hori, attacks peanut leaflets and causes defoliation. Our objective was to determine if ethylene was involved in this defoliation. Leaves of three peanut, Arachis sp., genotypes were inoculated with C. arac...

SCREENING OF DIFFERENT PLANT EXTRACTS AGAINST LEAF SPOT (Cercospora arachidicola and Cercosporidium personatum) OF GROUNDNUT (Arachis hypogaea L.)

A study was undertaken to evaluate effectiveness of foliar spray with 33 plant extracts against leaf spot (Tikka) of groundnut caused by Cercospora arachidicola and Cercosporidium personatum. Bavistin and BAU-Biofungicide were included in the experiment as checks and spray of plain water represented control. Almost all treatments gave considerable reduction in disease incidence and increase in ...

Draft Genome Sequence of Cercospora arachidicola, Causal Agent of Early Leaf Spot in Peanuts

Cercospora arachidicola, causal agent of early leaf spot, is an economically important peanut pathogen. Lack of genetic information about this fungus prevents understanding the role that potentially diverse genotypes may have in peanut breeding programs. Here, we report for the first time a draft genome sequence of C. arachidicola.

Isolation of maize soil and rhizosphere bacteria with antagonistic activity against Aspergillus flavus and Fusarium verticillioides.

Bacterial isolates from Mississippi maize field soil and maize rhizosphere samples were evaluated for their potential as biological control agents against Aspergillus flavus and Fusarium verticillioides. Isolated strains were screened for antagonistic activities in liquid coculture against A. flavus and on agar media against A. flavus and F. verticillioides. We identified 221 strains that inhib...
